Evernote: Re-Launching A New Brand Internally and Externally – With Style and Impact

Last summer, the innovative note-taking app, Evernote, unveiled its new brand with a showcase event celebrating its tenth anniversary, highlighting the brand’s differentiation around using technology “to do good”. Anna Marie Events was delighted to help design and manage this creative celebration incorporating the theme “ever better”.

So how do you transform the brand identity of a 10-year-old leader from legacy to legendary?

Use Iconic Brand Colors to Link A Successful Past to the Future

On Evernote’s 10-year anniversary, they wanted to leverage their brand’s history and success to jumpstart a new phase in the brand’s evolution beginning with a relaunch of the Evernote brand. Their new corporate identity formed the building blocks taking the green color story into powerful large-scale graphics emphasizing the growth potential for the company.

Integrate an Emotional Theme into the Event Which Ties into the Brand’s Culture

Another way Evernote was able to leverage their message about the company’s growth potential was through the “ever better” theme’s tie in to “ever” (e.g. forever) and “Evernote”, the brand name. We used this theme throughout the event to reemphasize to the Evernote team, their roles in helping to execute on Evernote’s company plan for success.

Use Vendors to Strategically Inject Creative and Engaging “Events Within the Event”

Another way to inject fun and engaging “newness” into events is to use your vendors as “actors” on stage during the event. Our caterer, Joshua Charles Catering, had their chef, Mark Samson, up front and center creating artistic presentations for some of the delicious canapes attendees feasted on at the Evernote event.

Encourage Active Fun to Make Your Company Event More Memorable and Relaxing

A final note, by choosing a venue which supports both indoor and outdoor spaces, you can “let some air” into your company event encouraging interaction and downtime to break up the more substantive parts of your program. We used tents, games, artificial turf and furniture to create entire new outdoor spaces which allowed the Evernote attendees some fun in the sun in between keynotes and breakout sessions.
