SITUATION: Sony PlayStation wanted to produce a best-in-class gaming event in Las Vegas to announce breaking news about their upcoming releases and allow gamers to get their hands on the games and meet and mingle with PlayStation game developers. They were working on an incredibly tight timeline and they needed additional professional event logistical and on-site management support to ensure all their developers were able to expertly merchandise and showcase their video game products.
ACTION: Anna Marie Events was selected to work with over 80 independent game developers, managing all event logistics for them and their extended teams before, during and after the PlayStation event.
RESULT: The PlayStation Experience event rocked the video game industry, receiving high praise from some tough critics and WOWing their fans. Even the press was impressed including Gamasutra and the Financial Post.
Cisco VIP Pre-Conference Event
SITUATION: Cisco’s Cisco Powered department needed to impress their key clients with a cocktail party engineered to get both their client and team fired up about their upcoming conference. We had seven days and a venue. We needed to use creative branding to showcase the Cisco brand, “shrink” and reengineer a venue that was too large for the number of guests, find entertainment and project manage all the logistics.
ACTION: Anna recommended ways to redesign the event space to block unsightly [parking lot] views and creatively incorporate branding into the event. She found innovative ways to use both interior and exterior spaces, keeping the group engaged and clustered for effective communication and networking. Branding was included in custom lighting displays, tables and bars, and the venue was lit in the corporate brand colors. Structural floral enhancements with “techie” elements and corporate branded lighting were included to embellish the space. Linens in cutting edge designs served to further enhance the client and team experience.
What a success! This event got the team completely fired up about our upcoming sales conference and we were able to focus on the key messages we wanted to relay to them without worrying about the venue, catering and decor. A real ‘win-win’ for us.

CASE STUDY – Andy Mai, Gravity Mobile Special Event
SITUATION: Andy Mai, Director, UI Design at Gravity Mobile, wanted to host a special celebration event at his office that included friends and colleagues. We had seven days, a DJ and a bartender. We needed to transform the office into a club-like setting, making it feel inviting, young and fresh. Andy wanted his event to be unforgettable and he had a tight budget.
ACTION: Anna sourced an off-site venue as an alternative, but in the end, Andy decided to host the party in his office. Once the venue was finalized, Anna recommended a design that would transform the Gravity Mobile office space into a hip, techy club. Two conference rooms were transformed into “chill rooms” by adding lounge furniture and lighting. We sourced a caterer to provide small bites for early and late-night snacking, including savory small bites, bite-sized pork loin sandwiches, and miniature donuts from Donut Savant. Polly Martini provided full bar services. Customized lighting elements tied the spaces together and gave the event a cohesive look, and the onsite lighting engineer changed up his designs continually to keep the look fresh all evening.
RESULT: “My friends were jazzed. Someone told me this was the coolest party they had ever been to! Thanks Anna. Will definitely be calling you next year.”
CASE STUDY – ReadyTech Team Building Off Site
SITUATION: ReadyTech’s Director of Finance wanted to bring some creativity to their corporate, team-building off-site and ReadyTech needed their team to have a rich, rewarding and highly memorable experience. We had a few weeks and a venue – a public park. We needed to find a caterer, coordinate transportation, organize fun activities and creatively decorate the space.
ACTION: Anna recommended several games to entertain the team during the outing, including a corn hole tournament that got the whole team engaged, laughing and competing. She brought in a top-rated BBQ expert from Napa and found innovative ways to use the existing park furniture to display the picnic bites and beverages in style. Custom food labeling and serving pieces were designed to enhance the look and make the teambuilding event feel more sophisticated than just your average BBQ or picnic.
RESULT: “What an experience! I was able to show up to our off-site picnic with everything ready to go so I could just enjoy the day. Anna added just the right touches to make the team feel welcome and relaxed. We even got the whole group to compete in the corn hole tournament! Thank you, Anna Marie Events. CASE STUDY – ASUS Product Launch
SITUATION: The ASUS public relations team needed some assistance with their product launch event at the Intercontinental Hotel in San Francisco. We had a few weeks, a venue, and a brilliant PR team managing the launch messaging and the press. ASUS needed help to creatively organize the space, add some branded elements, coordinate video production of the event and manage logistics during the launch event.
ACTION: Anna put together a to-scale space drawing that would accommodate a large number of press in a small space. She provided a list of vendors who could manage the video production with delivery of a final product that evening. She coordinated the production and installation of large-scale branded signage, provided logistics management advice during the planning process and was onsite during the entire event to assist with execution, working closely with all members of the ASUS public relations team.
RESULT: “What a success! Anna put our minds at ease before and during the event. She was so easy to work with. It was such a pleasure, we will consider using her for ASUS events outside of the San Francisco Bay Area and will definitely contact her to assist with future Bay Area events.”
